June 10, 2005 -Mel Ramos PopArt Fantasies - A great book for your coffee table if you don't mind having nudity in open view. 50's style pin-ups meet pop culture products in cleverly rendered oil paintings...really cool stuff.

May 2, 2005 - This is not your average Teen reader. Powerful and emotional, the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants by Ann Brashares is a great read. Four very different girls stay together and connected by one pair of very well worn jeans. I just ordered the 2nd book 2 minutes after finishing the 1st. Also, there's a cool website: Sisterhood Central.

March 16, 2005 - The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillippa Gregory - interesting and complicated, I like this book because of how crazy the life of a courtier actually is. On the surface it's a life of dancing, games and partying and on the inside it's broken hearts, traded bodies and manipulation.

March 2, 2005 - This week's plug: The Starving Artist's Way by Nava Lubelski This book is full of ideas from homemade liquor to felt to homemade furniture. It intersperses that information with comparisons to artists and their personal styles. It's clever, easy to read and just extremely interesting. I'm making Pom Liqueur right now in my cabinet.
